Before Hollywood came calling Luise had a brief film career in Europe, making three films in the early 1930s. Her debut before the camera was in the romantic comedy Sehnsucht 202 (1932), and her final film before her MGM debut was Heut kommt’s drauf an (1933). In between she apparently made one more film, Madame hat Besuch. I say ‘apparently’ as I have been unable to find any further information about this film except its listing in a number of filmographies and some basic acting and production credits. The film is listed on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) from where most other sites have taken ‘their’ information. Although I have material in my collection relating to her other two European films I have yet to find anything relating to this title.
The film was made in Austria in 1932 by Cine-Allianz Tonfilmproduktions (who also made Sehnsucht 202) with IMDb user ‘bbmtwist‘ citing in a message board post (now unavailable) that it was her second film made, but released after Heut kommt’s drauf an. It starred Attila Hörbiger, Herbert Hübner, Hans Olden and Luise. IMDb lists writing credits for Rosa Wachtel and Karl Farkas, with direction by Carl Boese.
